Never Again - Repulsed
Label - Carry the weight records
Straight Edge newcomers Never Again bring something that lately hardcore has lacked, straight up aggressive hardcore. A couple years ago a band like this would have been a dime a dozen but this 4 piece are welcomed. With two demo’s already released and and 7” out very soon Never Again are clearly here to show the others how it is done. Repulsed is a 4 track demo which is fast and in your face awesome demo, Intro/Repulsed is the longest of the tracks standing at 2 minutes and 17 seconds, slightly slower at the start but soon kicks into a tracks to get you moving and ready for what is about to come, Enough Is Enough and Art School Fool are to date the best tracks Never Again have produced. Outstro leaves you wishing this was a full length and not just a short demo. Amazing second release from the Southern Rise youths and look forward to hearing more.

Take Courage - Self titled E.P
Label - Fist in the air records
Possibly the best punk/hardcore band to come out of kent since On Thin Ice, expect big things. 6 tracks of fast paced, raw emotion which will leave you wanting more! The song which sticks out most is 22 second long YFP ( You Fucking Prick ) A crowd favorite for sure. Take Courage are clearly comfortable doing what they do with a second release due early 2010 i look forward to the more matured angle they have decided to go to!
Buy this E.P from Fist In The Air Records big cartel or from the band at a show!

50 Lions - Where Life Expires
Label - Resist records / Six feet under records
I have been a fan of most of 50 lions releases normally on first listen but this took me a few runs through, vocalist Oscar appears to have taken a new direction with his voice which was noticed subtly in the self titled E.P but in this latest release it almost sounds like a different guy! Don’t get me wrong after 4 or 5 listens it really did grow on me but i feel this is a change to fit into a already rather boring sound! Previous releases such as “Time Is Your Enemy” and the split with Down To Nothing bought tracks that really made the Australian 5 piece stand out but now they seem to fit into a box neatly with other beat-down brutes such as Terror or Bury Your Dead. Defiantly worth checking out but if you are new to this band check out older releases first!

Santa Karla - At The Mouth Of Madness Demo 2009
Label - Fist in the air records
Kent based metallic hardcore 5 piece “Santa Karla” bestow upon us three tracks of nothing short of genius, proving that the kent hardcore scene is very much alive! The first track “Whispers” keeps very much close to their previous release “A Thousand Deaths” where the second and third tracks are the ones that catch your attention with subtile hints of Hardcore mammoths Rise & Fall or Converge, Defiantly ones to watch!
(this demo is now sold out in CD format but is available for pre-order on 7” vinyl through Thirty Days Of Night Records)
